Microduino-Crash Sensor

Microduino-Crash Sensor is used to detect crash, which can be divided to left-crash and right-crash regarding symmetry.

Feature

  • Left-crash and right-crash;
  • LED crash indicator;
  • Small size and easy for installation.

Specification

  • 1.27mm-pitch 4Pin interface;
  • Operation voltage: 5V 工

Document

Development

Crash switch converts mechanical energy to electrical energy. When crashing on items in the front, the circuit switch will close, causing the voltage dropping from high to low level and getting LED lighten. By detecting the level, we can tell if there is a crash. Microduino-Crash can be used for limiting and anti-collision, such as motor limit switch for 3D printer and robot anti-collision.

Application

  • Hardware needed: Microduino-Core, Microduino-USBTTL, USB cable and dupont lines;
  • Stack all modules and connect with dupont wires: VCC of Microduino-Crash to 5V of Core, GND to GND, OUT to D2.
  • Open Arduino IDE, select File→Examples→Basics→DigitalReadSerial, choose the right board and download after compiling.
  • Open serial monitor after download. It will return to “1” when there is no crash and “0” when there is. You can judge if there is a crash according to the return value.
